Karate is a martial art that not only promotes physical fitness, but also strengthens the mind. Especially for children aged 7 and over, karate offers many benefits that can help them in everyday life as well as at school. Our ‘Karate for children aged 7+’ course is all about teaching children the basic techniques of karate in a friendly and motivating environment. The focus is on discipline, respect and, of course, fun.
Improving physical fitness and coordination
At the age of 7, children begin to develop their motor skills and refine their coordination of movement. Karate optimally supports this development. Regular exercises promote strength, flexibility and endurance. Posture also improves as children learn to move with awareness and concentration.
Karate is also a great full-body workout: every muscle is used, be it in kicks, punches or self-defence exercises. As a result, the children not only develop better physical fitness, but also a healthy body awareness.
Strengthening discipline and concentration
Discipline is a central aspect of karate. Children learn to follow rules and to control themselves. In our karate lessons, we attach great importance to teaching children in a playful way that perseverance and focus are important qualities. Especially in this day and age, when many children are distracted by digital media, karate offers a valuable opportunity to strengthen their ability to concentrate.
Our experienced instructors organise the lessons in such a way that the children learn to concentrate on a task while remaining calm and patient. These skills not only help in karate, but are also very useful at school and in everyday life.
Promoting self-confidence and respect
Karate helps children to build self-confidence. By learning new techniques and improving their skills step by step, children experience a sense of achievement that gives them strong self-confidence. They learn to approach challenges with a positive attitude and to trust themselves.
Another important aspect of our lessons is respect – towards the trainers, fellow students and themselves. Children learn that karate is not an aggressive martial art, but is based on respect and fairness. Respectful interaction is always our top priority.
Fun in the community
Of course, we don’t forget to have fun. In a positive and supportive community, it is easier for the children to develop and to socialise with their peers. Friendships are forged and training becomes an experience that the children look forward to every week.
